“Great minds think alike,”– that’s how the saying goes. An apt saying here at Stringr, because many of our great videographers—have asked us the same questions. So we thought we’d take the time to answer the three that we see the most.
Can I change my home location?
We are a mobile society. Our stringrs are always on the go, even traveling to different states to obtain footage. It’s no wonder, then, that you constantly ask about receiving notifications during trips, after moving to a different city or because you commute between states.
While Stringr has officially launched in 10 cities across the United States, plus Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic, news knows no bounds. If you joined Stringr and we are not officially in your city, fret not. There’s no need to wait for a request to upload footage. If you’re following the news and there is a breaking news event, upload the footage you get – shot horizontally, as always- and alert our team to your upload.
Plus, if you share your location on the app, you’ll get notifications if one pops up in an area to which you have travelled.
And as always, email us and tell us where you’d like us to go. If we see enough interest in a certain area, you can be sure that there will be an interest in doing an official launch.
How many Stringrs are fulfilling the same request?
Stringrs often ask about how many other stringrs respond to the same request.
We are finding that often, customers buy footage from multiple stringrs who cover the same event. So even if you see another videographer at an event, it’s entirely possible that both of your clips will be sold. Our customers like the variety of shots and perspectives, but of course choose those that are composed well! So make sure to check out our video tutorials to learn more about how to get the best shots.
I’ve uploaded videos, but haven’t sold one yet?!
While our curation managers make sure to market your videos to interested parties, there are steps you can take to improve your chances of making a sale. From the metadata , the tags title and description, to the quality of your footage, every single step plays an important part in selling your video. It gets easier and faster with practice.
